Holcim Hrvatska proudly announces the return of experienced expert Mihajlo Mirković, who will take on the role of director of the cement plant in Koromačn and member of the Management Board of Holcim Hrvatska. Mirković, a graduate engineer in mechanical engineering from the University of Rijeka, brings extensive experience in managing industrial processes, production control, predictive maintenance, and the execution of capital projects.
During his twelve-year career at Holcim, Mr. Mirković has gained a deep understanding of the cement industry business. Since 2013, he has held leadership positions in the cement and energy sectors, and now he returns to Holcim Hrvatska with the aim of further strengthening the business and innovations in cement production.
Holcim’s cement plant in Koromačn, with nearly a century of tradition, is a leader in sustainable industrial solutions in Croatia. The company continuously invests in modernization and environmentally friendly technologies, having distinguished itself through the strategic project KOdeCO Net Zero, valued at 237 million euros. This project, supported by the EU Innovation Fund with 117 million euros in grants, will enable Holcim to become the first producer of carbon-neutral cement in Croatia and one of the first in Europe. By reducing CO₂ emissions by 367 thousand tons annually, Holcim Hrvatska reaffirms its commitment to decarbonizing the industry and sustainable development.
