According to data from the Tax Administration (PU), the number of invoices issued in retail trade by 3:00 PM on Friday is up by 9 percent, and the total amount of issued invoices is up by 20 percent compared to last Friday, when a boycott was also taking place. However, compared to Friday, January 17, when there was no boycott, the number of invoices is down by almost seven percent, and the amount is down by four percent.
At the invitation of the platform Halo Inspektore, a full-day boycott of stores is being held in Croatia this Friday, which this time, at the request of high school students, also includes a boycott of bakeries and all bakery products at all sales points.
In the sector “Retail Trade, Except for Motor Vehicle and Motorcycle Trade,” by 3:00 PM, the total number of fiscalized invoices was 2,149,289 invoices, and the amount of invoices was €32,927,176.39, as reported by the Tax Administration.
Last Friday, February 7, when a boycott of stores was also taking place, the total number of fiscalized invoices by 3:00 PM was 1,971,885 invoices, and the amount of invoices was €27,389,412.09. On Friday, January 17, however, when there was no boycott, the total number of fiscalized invoices by 3:00 PM was 2,306,785 invoices, and the amount of invoices was €34,352,545.27.
The data shows that the number of invoices today from 00:00 to 15:00 is up by 9 percent compared to last Friday, and the amount of invoices is up by 20.22 percent. However, compared to January 17, when there was no boycott, the number of invoices today by 3:00 PM was down by 6.83 percent, and their amount was down by 4.15 percent.
We will learn about the actual impact of the boycott on retail trade in Croatia on March 5, when the DZS will publish retail trade turnover for January.
