In Novska, the construction of the Gaming Industry Center will begin by the end of February, with a contract signed on Tuesday with the contractor, Tromont, which has been introduced to the construction site. The deadline for the completion of the first phase of this center, valued at 38.7 million euros, is two years. The project holder of the Gaming Industry Center Novska is the Public Institution (JU) Regional Coordinator of the Sisak-Moslavina County, with partners including the Sisak-Moslavina County, the Development Agency SIMORA, and the City of Novska. The contract was signed with the contractor by the director of the Regional Coordinator of the Sisak-Moslavina County (SMŽ) Andreja Šeperac, and the signing was attended by the Minister of Labor, Pension System, Family and Social Policy Marin Piletić, the Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds Šime Erlić, the Prefect of the Sisak-Moslavina County Ivan Celjak, and the Mayor of Novska Marija Kušmiš.

At the same time, Minister Erlić handed Director Šeperac Addendum 1 to the Grant Agreement. Namely, in June, a contract was signed for the allocation of 26 million euros in non-repayable funds, and the financing has now been increased due to rising prices.

– The Government of the Republic of Croatia will monitor this project, unique in Croatia and Europe, until its final realization. We have started negotiations with the European Commission regarding the financing of Phase II of this project and we are on the right track – emphasized Erlić.

The Gaming Industry Center, located in the Novska business zone, the first of its kind in Europe, includes an incubator and accelerator for the gaming industry, infrastructure for university study programs in the field of gaming, as well as all associated student and sports facilities. The project begins with the construction of infrastructure and the establishment of study programs, a student dormitory, as well as a range of sports facilities, a power plant, and access roads. The construction deadline for the first phase of the Gaming Industry Center in Novska is 24 months, and Tromont has announced that construction work will begin by the end of February.

The Prefect of SMŽ Ivan Celjak assessed that today marks the first step in a significant leap into the future for SMŽ and Novska, as there are no boundaries in the development of the gaming industry. The Mayor of Novska Marija Kušmiš reminded that the idea for the gaming center originated nine years ago.

– So far, this project has significantly contributed to the development of the city and the arrival of young people from all over Croatia to Novska, and this will continue, and in two years we will be talking about a new developmental momentum – emphasized the Mayor of Novska, concluding that this project will also stimulate the development of other sectors and enable an increase in the standard of living in Novska.
