Retail trade turnover on Friday 53 percent lower than the week before

Data from the Tax Administration published on Saturday shows that the total number of invoices issued in retail trade on Friday, January 24, was 44 percent lower than the Friday a week earlier, and the total amount of issued invoices was 53 percent lower, while for all activities, the number of invoices was lower by 29 percent and the amount by 36 percent.

In the activity ‘Retail trade, except for the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles’, on Friday, the total number of fiscalized invoices in Croatia was 2,081,506, and the amount of invoices was 28,604,251.58 euros. Last Friday, January 17, a total of 3,697,571 invoices were fiscalized, and the amount of invoices was 60,565,083.41 euros. The data shows that the number of invoices on Friday, January 24, compared to Friday, January 17, is lower by 44 percent, while the amount of invoices is also lower by 53 percent, according to the Tax Administration.

For all activities, the number of invoices is lower by 29 percent, and the amount by 36 percent

The total number of fiscalized invoices for all activities yesterday was 5,096,083 invoices, and the amount of invoices was 78,373,051.19 euros.

On Friday a week earlier, that is, January 17, the total number of fiscalized invoices was 7,195,480, and the amount of invoices was 121,898,234.32 euros. Thus, the data shows that the number of invoices on Friday, January 24, compared to Friday, January 17, is lower by 29 percent, while the amount of invoices is lower by 36 percent.

Let us remind you that in Croatia yesterday, a boycott of stores was conducted due to high prices. It was initiated by an initiative that started from the Facebook group ‘Hello, Inspector’, backed by the European Consumer Excellence Center (ECIP), and in the meantime, it has been supported by consumer protection societies, trade unions, political parties, and even the Minister of Economy himself. This initiative began with messages that were shared on social networks in recent days.
