Today’s boycott of stores is an important and articulated message from citizens that will be taken into account, said Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Friday.
– This is an important and articulated message from citizens that they monitor and compare prices and consider that part of these prices is unacceptable compared to similar or the same products abroad, where in today’s time of technological advancement they can easily compare prices with those in other countries, said Plenković at the beginning of the government session.
“The message from citizens is important and it will be taken into account when defining measures for the administrative limitation of prices of certain products, which the government will adopt next week,” he added.
According to him, the government has protected the standard of citizens from high prices through a series of measures, some of which include lowering certain VAT rates, limiting the prices of products from the consumer basket, and subsidizing energy prices.
He announced the publication of an updated list of products with limited prices for next week.
He recalled the government’s initiative, namely discussions with traders, distributors, manufacturers, and a call for “responsible behavior towards citizens.”
