Average Salary for September Amounted to 1,322 Euros

The average monthly net salary per employee in legal entities in Croatia for September amounted to 1,322 euros, which is nominally higher by 166 euros or 14.4 percent year-on-year, and real by 12.6 percent, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) published on Thursday.

Compared to the salary for August of this year, however, the average net salary for September was nominally lower by two euros or 0.2 percent, and real by 0.6 percent lower.

The highest average monthly net salary was paid in air transport, amounting to 2,139 euros, while the lowest was in clothing manufacturing, amounting to 850 euros.

According to the DZS report, the median net salary for September was 1,129 euros, meaning that half of the employees earned less and half earned more than that amount.

The average monthly gross salary per employee in legal entities for September amounted to 1,829 euros, which is nominally lower by 0.5 percent and real by 0.9 percent compared to August of this year. Year-on-year, the average gross salary is nominally higher by 14.6 percent and real by 12.8 percent.

As with net salaries, the highest average monthly gross salary per employee in legal entities for September was in air transport, amounting to 3,118 euros, while the lowest was in clothing manufacturing, amounting to 1,100 euros.

For the period from January to September, the average monthly net salary per employee in legal entities amounted to 1,305 euros, which is nominally higher by 15.2 percent and real by 11.8 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

In September, there were an average of 165 paid hours, which is lower by 5.7 percent compared to August.

The highest number of paid hours was in water transport (174), while the lowest was in social care activities without accommodation and services related to the management and maintenance of buildings, as well as landscaping activities (151).

The average monthly net salary per hour for September amounted to 7.75 euros, which is higher by 4.9 percent compared to August, and higher by 14.8 percent compared to September last year.
