Treasury bills subscribed by nearly 27 thousand citizens amounting to about 918 million euros

In the current round, nearly 27 thousand citizens subscribed to treasury bills amounting to about 918 million euros, with more than 17 thousand citizens reinvesting funds from treasury bills purchased last November.

As of today at noon, 26,930 citizens have subscribed to treasury bills amounting to about 918.4 million euros. The total number of reinvested offers was 17,446, amounting to about 544.3 million euros, the Ministry of Finance reported in response to Hina’s inquiry.

Citizens had a new opportunity to invest in government securities since last Friday, for the seventh time in just over a year and a half, of which the fifth time in treasury bills.

Recall that until then, a total of 1 billion and 130 million euros had been subscribed, and now the targeted nominal amount of the issue is 1.2 billion euros, with an annual yield of 3.15 percent, while the payment period for citizens ended today at 11 a.m. After that, a second round of subscriptions will be held on November 19 from 9 to 11 a.m. – intended for institutional investors, after which the final terms of the issue will be known.

The issue date of the treasury bills will be November 21, and the maturity date will be November 20, 2025.

As is already known, treasury bills are purchased at a discount, which means that the price at the issue of one treasury bill was 969.54 euros, and citizens will receive 1,000 euros for each bill at maturity, meaning they will be able to earn 30.46 euros.

According to recent statements by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Marko Primorac, the goal of this issue was to enable citizens to reinvest, i.e., to reinvest the amount they invested in treasury bills last November, which mature this month, specifically on November 21.

To facilitate the entire process for citizens, the option of ‘reinvestment’ has been introduced on the e-treasury platform from this round of subscriptions.
