Italian Cuisine Week is an event that has been held for the ninth consecutive year during the month of November worldwide, aimed at presenting and promoting the rich culinary and gastronomic tradition as an important context of Italian contemporary identity and culture.
The theme of this year’s event places a special focus on the Mediterranean, dietary way of eating and deeply rooted traditional cuisine, as a guarantee of human health, a balanced lifestyle, and overall well-being. It has been scientifically confirmed that a diet based on the Mediterranean way of preparing food prevents a whole range of so-called metabolic syndromes and diseases; diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular and tumor diseases, etc.
Furthermore, a cuisine based on the use of seasonal ingredients and local products contributes to a model of biodiversity, sustainability, and self-sufficiency in the healthy and nutritionally recognized art of food preparation.
A series of special events will mark Italian Cuisine Week in the world in Croatia from November 18 to 22.
