At the end of September, accounts of 202.3 thousand Croatian citizens were blocked, with a total principal debt of €2.88 billion, as well as 12.9 thousand business entities, whose principal debt amounted to €675.5 million, according to data from the Financial Agency (Fina) published on Tuesday.
At the end of October, the register of payment order bases recorded 202,331 consumers, which is 0.9 percent more than in the previous month and 5.9 percent less than a year ago. Their principal debt amounted to €2.88 billion, which is 1.8 percent more compared to September this year and 4.1 percent compared to October last year. When the principal of €2.88 billion is added to the debt from interest amounting to €1.07 billion, the total debt of citizens with blocked accounts at the end of October amounted to €3.94 billion. The debt of consumers to banks as creditors amounted to €0.64 billion (excluding interest), while the total debt to all financial institutions amounted to €0.73 billion, Fina reports.
Due to unpaid payment bases, at the end of October, the register of payment order bases recorded 12,858 business entities, which is 190 business entities or 1.5 percent less compared to September 2024 and 1,948 or 13.2 percent less compared to October 2023. Their principal debt amounted to €675.5 million, which is €5.1 million or 0.8 percent less than in September this year and €6.1 million or 0.9 percent less than in October 2023. The debt from interest amounted to €215.4 million, so the total debt of business entities at the end of October amounted to €890.9 million.
