In the latest episode of Lider’s podcast, Ivana Gažić, CEO of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE), shared her experiences from the world of finance with journalist and host Roko Kalafatić, where she has been at the helm of the ZSE for 14 years. Gažić, who began her career in 1998 at Pliva, talks about her love for finance, challenges in a predominantly ‘male’ sector, and the changes that have occurred over the years.
Ivana commented on the concerning number of women in the management boards of companies within the CROBEX index, which is a worrying trend for Croatia, especially compared to the London Stock Exchange, where the share of women in management reaches 40 percent and is growing. ‘How to create conditions in which equality is an integral part of business, not just a word on paper?’ was one of the key questions of the new podcast episode, but Gažić also touched on issues of encouraging domestic investors and market transparency, as well as how the ZSE promotes investments in Croatian companies. She also shared her opinion on listing state-owned companies on the stock exchange, emphasizing the advantages such a move could bring to the economy.
