By producing natural pellets and briquettes from oak, the company PPS Galeković has completed the cycle of circular business. According to Filip Galeković, the director of PPS Galeković, by investing in new technologies, they have focused on sustainable business and the production of a completely natural product.
In addition to parquet and flooring, PPS Galeković also produces products for eco-heating. What does this entail?
– Throughout its long history, the Galeković company has cared for the preservation of nature and natural resources. Through circular business, we have closed the production chain with Gala pellets and briquettes, solutions for eco-heating that combine high efficiency, financial accessibility, and practicality for everyday use. Wooden pellets and briquettes are the best example of responsible and ecological production. They are completely natural, healthy, and safe, and do not pollute the environment.
What type of wood do you use to produce pellets and briquettes?
– Premium wooden pellets and briquettes from Galeković are made from oak, which ensures their high calorific value – they are energy efficient and environmentally friendly. The processing of wood results in fine particles that can be mechanically pressed without the use of binding agents to create the highest quality wood pellets and briquettes.
What is the energy efficiency of the pellets and briquettes?
– Our production is focused on completely natural pellets of high energy efficiency. By investing in new technologies and facilities equipped to the latest standards, the processes of PPS Galeković have focused on sustainable business and the production of a completely natural product. One of the main advantages of pellet heating is that all wood raw material, i.e., sawdust from the wood industry, is utilized for their production. Collected sawdust and chips go together to the grinding mills, and then this raw material goes to the dryer. The heat for drying is obtained from the boiler room, which uses biomass that is not suitable for pellet production or other products, and excess heat is also used to produce green electricity. When the pellets reach 8 to 10 percent moisture, they are ground again. After additional checks, the pellets are placed in the pellet press, from which hot pellets emerge, which are then cooled and packaged. Gala pellets have a high energy value, moisture content of less than 10 percent, and an ash content of less than 0.7 percent. This means that this fuel will be consumed more slowly, but will also produce significantly less ash.
