On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of independent operations of Croatian Post, a conference titled Green Logistics – Path to Carbon Neutrality was held on Thursday at the National Warehouse and Sorting Center. The conference highlighted a retrospective of key innovations and insights into the future of the logistics and postal sector.
– We operate in a time of profound changes in the postal and logistics industry. Changes in the structure of shipments clearly outline the contours of the future of our business. Traditional letters are gradually giving way to packages, reflecting global trends of digitalization and the growth of e-commerce. We expected such developments and welcomed these changes prepared – emphasized Ivan Čulo, CEO of Croatian Post, in his opening speech, highlighting sustainable business as one of the fundamental pillars of the company’s business strategy.
A special emphasis was placed on sustainability, the fight against climate change, and achieving carbon neutrality in a panel discussion on future challenges in the industry. Panelists highlighted the necessity of using new technologies, the potential of natural energy sources such as domestic geothermal sources, and shared practical tips on eco-friendly driving. The key message of the conference emphasized that the future of the planet is a responsibility for all of us that we can influence through our daily activities.
In its quarter-century of operations, Croatian Post employees have delivered 7.5 billion letter shipments, delivered 130 million packages, conducted 1.5 billion transactions, and processed 27 million money transfer orders.
