A1 Croatia has been focused on innovative business practices since its establishment. The development of digital services and skills, as well as the use of renewable energy sources, are among the main pillars of the strategy. Aiming to reduce carbon footprint, strengthen social inclusion, and increase corporate transparency, A1 Croatia has implemented a series of initiatives aimed at sustainable business.

For example, we install solar power plants and free cooling systems at our base stations, recycle old devices for customers, automate internal processes to reduce paper consumption, and turned to the digitalization of services – from customer applications to the digitalization of internal processes – several years ago.

All these steps contribute to A1 Croatia’s goals as a sustainable company. In addition to having a special department that deals with ESG, we also have a special department where about twenty mostly young professionals work on AI-based solutions. They are engaged in research, development, and implementation of AI-based solutions aimed at improving business processes within the organization and customer experience.

Our team of experts combines the latest knowledge in the fields of machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing to create innovative products in various domains of the company. They are engaged in researching the latest technologies and methodologies in artificial intelligence and developing and integrating them into existing systems. They recognized the potential of natural language processing (NLP) in time and developed a series of solutions that accelerate communication with customers, such as internal chatbot solutions, smart email categorization systems, and assistants for customer service agents.

For several years, this team has been developing and applying AI solutions to optimize various internal processes, and one of the latest solutions helps reduce electricity consumption. We recognized the potential of applying artificial intelligence six to seven years ago and continuously invest in the development of this area and increasing the number of young AI professionals in the company.
