The growing number of threats from internet fraud and the increase in potential dangers faced by children, youth, and the public in the business world online prompted A1 Hrvatska and the Center for Safer Internet to organize the conference “Cyberguard 2024”. Its primary goal was to bring together leading experts in the field of cybersecurity and business security solutions, as well as education and relevant institutions to discuss protection and responsible behavior online.

Through a dynamic program, participants were able to learn more about current topics such as child safety online, privacy protection, and business security solutions through panels and lectures. Among the speakers on these topics were Nathalie Rayes, the U.S. Ambassador to Croatia, Kristi O’Malley, International Computer Hacking & Intellectual Property (ICHIP) Attorney Advisor, United States Department of Justice, Tino Šokić, a cybersecurity expert, and many others.

– Social responsibility is deeply embedded in the DNA of all of us at A1, and as an internet service provider, we are aware that this responsibility is greatest in the area of online security. This is a topic we have been paying special attention to for many years, whether through our #BoljiOnline platform, which was launched in collaboration with the Center for Safer Internet, or through the security solutions and services we provide to the business sector – emphasized Dejan Turk, CEO of A1 Hrvatska and A1 Slovenia.

At the conference, best practices for raising awareness about online dangers and specific tools for protection, as well as the technical aspects of cybersecurity, were presented, providing insights into the latest technologies and data protection methods.

– This conference is a unique opportunity to gain new knowledge and adopt new perceptions about victims and trauma in the online space, but also to develop tools that can help in the recovery of victims of online sexual abuse. I believe that the experiences of global experts will significantly contribute to raising awareness and improving professional work in our areas. The CyberGuard 2024 conference is special because it is organized in collaboration with our long-term partner A1 Hrvatska, and brings the best of us and the #BoljiOnline platform – said Tomislav Ramljak, head of the Center for Missing and Exploited Children (CNZD) and the Center for Safer Internet (CSI).

Particular attention was drawn to the panels “Are We #BoljiOnline?” and “The Future of Cybersecurity – What Awaits Us?” While the first panel discussion covered topics such as cyberbullying, child protection in the online world, and projects like the Gen Z Academy and School of Responsible Influencing, the second panel focused on business security and new technological trends such as artificial intelligence in ICT.
