Opening of the production business building of MDK Građevinar

After over 50 years of experience in construction projects, MDK Građevinar is expanding its activities to the production of waterproofing materials, under the renowned brand STIG. In 2021, MDK Građevinar acquired the formulas from the then Stig engineering and began producing waterproofing materials. As a logical step in the further development of the company and the planned strategy, MDK Građevinar has started planning new investments related to construction, specifically a Production Hall and a Production Business Building.

– The construction of the new business production building will not only allow us to increase production capacities but also to organize all our operations in one location – said Krunoslav Pavlinić, director of MDK Građevinar, during the opening on September 27.

The ceremony was also attended by Jasna Petek, Deputy Mayor of Krapina-Zagorje County, and Robert Greblički, Mayor of Veliko Trgovišće, and was enhanced by performances from the Mrzlo Polje Wind Orchestra and soprano Barbara Suhodolčan.

– I am glad that the STIG production facility and RINGER have settled here alongside MDK. As I had the opportunity to talk with their management, I learned that several more economic facilities are planned. The municipality of Veliko Trgovišće recognized the ambition and potential, so we accommodated the changes to the spatial plan and the plan for forming a new economic zone here in Dubrovčan – said Mayor Robert Greblički.

The construction of the Production Business Building began in 2022 and was completed now, in September 2024. The building, with a square floor plan and a central atrium, has a total area of about 2000 square meters and is situated on three hills, with its uniqueness being visible concrete and the use of prestressing to create an attractive space while achieving savings on the use of reinforcement and concrete. The building was constructed according to the highest standards of energy efficiency, including the use of solar panels, significantly reducing its environmental impact.

In the production part, dry production processes will be conducted, and it will also have a research and technological function. On the other hand, the modernly arranged office spaces are designed to provide optimal working conditions for employees. The focus is on creating an encouraging work environment that will support innovation and collaboration among all departments within the company.

– I am pleased that this is a unique facility in Krapina-Zagorje County, and I hope even beyond, where we will, I believe, employ more staff in the future – added Pavlinić.

The ambitious projects of MDK Građevinar represent a significant step in the further development of the company, especially as they are also an investment in employees, partners, and the community.
