Jadrolinija is in the process of acquiring five catamarans, with the purchase process for two completed, and their delivery is expected in November, confirmed Jadrolinija on Thursday.
The purchase process has been completed for two catamarans, which are from the 2023 model year, measuring 38 meters in length, 10 meters in width, with a capacity of 312 passengers and a power of 2880 kW. Both were built at the Cahaya Samudra Shipyard in Indonesia.
Jadrolinija states that these two catamarans continue the series of female names that Jadrolinija’s catamarans bear, with one named Cvijeta – after Cvijeta Zuzorić, a Dubrovnik artist and poet. The other will be named Ružica – after Ružica Markobašić, who was killed in 1991 at Ovčara, in whose memory, as well as in memory of all pregnant women and unborn children who perished in the Homeland War, a monument was erected in front of the Vukovar hospital.
Jadrolinija is also acquiring three new catamarans, new builds with a capacity of at least 300 passengers. One public procurement process has been completed, and the purchase contract is being finalized, while preliminary consultations have been announced for the remaining two, and a public procurement announcement is forthcoming.
With the realization of investments in five new fast boats, Jadrolinija’s fast boat fleet will be completely renewed, which totals 16 investments during this Management’s term, according to Jadrolinija.
