Summa Equity, an investment fund based in Stockholm, has acquired a majority stake in the company Nutris, announced Zvonimir Sedlić, the director of the company from Novi Šenkovec, on LinkedIn. Sedlić emphasized that the partnership with Summa Equity is a turning point for Nutris, adding that the acquisition will have a positive impact not only on the company but also on the local communities with which Nutris collaborates, as well as on the global food system.
In fact, Summa Equity, as explained by Sedlić, has become the majority owner of the Danish holding company Pure20. Since this Danish company acquired Nutris this year, Summa Equity has indirectly become the majority owner of the company from Novi Šenkovec. In this process, Sedlić remains the second-largest shareholder in Pure20, and thus indirectly in Nutris, of which he is the founder.
– Summa’s investment in Nutris is primarily a confirmation to the entire team that what we have built from scratch has great market potential. This investment will not only bring economic benefits but also a significant positive impact on society. In collaboration with our farmer partners, we have developed regenerative agriculture projects aimed at revitalizing the soil and reducing carbon footprints, thereby contributing to a sustainable future. The partnership with Summa will enable us to increase productivity, develop a market with innovative and sustainable products, expand our presence in the European and American markets, and continue investing in the development of new and unique products – said Sedlić, who will remain at the helm of Nutris even after this acquisition.
According to information on the Summa Equity website, it is the largest European thematic investment fund, managing assets worth around five billion euros, and views global uncertainties as opportunities. The fund was founded by Reynir Indahl, a successful investor with an impressive portfolio, who was shaken after the financial crisis of 2008, which, like many, he did not foresee and was eager to understand the underlying causes of the crisis.
