Kalin Dimtchev, director of Microsoft Adriatic, will continue to manage operations in this region as part of Microsoft Southeast Europe, led by General Director Kristina Tikhonova, Microsoft announced after the previous director Vedran Bajer left the position of director of Microsoft in Croatia.

As we reported in Lider, less than two years after taking the helm of Microsoft Croatia Bajer is no longer the director, and for now, no new director for Croatia will be appointed; instead, operations will be managed by Dimtchev.

– Our joint presence in the Southeast European market, which includes Croatia, allows us to best support our users and partners. We will continue to collaborate with users, partners, governments, and local stakeholders to support their digital transformation goals and enable the widespread application of artificial intelligence, thereby driving real business and economic shifts in the countries where we operate – Microsoft responded to Lider’s inquiry.

Focus on AI

Before taking the position of director of Microsoft Adriatics, which includes nine countries, Dimtchev was the general director of Microsoft Bulgaria. He has previously emphasized the importance of applying artificial intelligence in all aspects of life.

– For the countries in the Adriatic region, this means keeping pace with global innovations, and we can already see examples of economic growth in numerous sectors, including manufacturing, finance, and insurance. We can use artificial intelligence to optimize energy consumption and manage natural resources, thus contributing to sustainable development in the region – Dimtchev commented last year, confident that AI will create new business opportunities in the IT sector, as well as in other industries that utilize AI technology.
