MHP, an international food and agrotechnology company with over 32,000 employees and products exported to more than 70 countries worldwide, has invested a total of 44.5 million euros in Croatia since 2019, when it entered the market through ownership of Perutnina Ptuj and PP Pipo Čakovec.

MHP representatives, led by Yuriy Kosyuk, the founder and CEO of MHP, presented the company’s investments in Croatia to representatives of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, led by Andrej Plenković, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, and confirmed their interest in continuing investments to enhance the capacity of domestic agriculture and the food industry and strengthen the sustainability of food production in the country, according to a statement.

MHP has further increased its investments in Croatia this year. The company Toni, one of the leading domestic companies in the field of grain procurement, drying, and storage, has been acquired, and MHP has also chosen Croatia for the opening of a completely new production facility for pet food. The production facility, which will be managed by the new company MHP Pet Food established in Croatia, is set to start operations in 2026, with a total investment value of 40 million euros, creating 200 new jobs.
The production facility will be located near Zagreb, close to existing facilities owned by Perutnina Ptuj, which will provide quality raw materials for processing. In the first phase, MHP plans to produce 20,000 tons of wet pet food, and then increase capacity to 35,000 tons annually by 2028. This facility will be the first of its kind for wet pet food production in Croatia and will be equipped with the latest technology with a high level of automation and the highest quality standards. This production facility is an important new step in the vertical integration of MHP’s production, and MHP sees great potential for business development in the global market for wet pet food production.
– Ukraine and Croatia have wartime experience, the Croatian people support and help Ukrainians in the war against Russian aggression, and Ukrainians are grateful for that. The Ukrainian and Croatian people share the same values, which is why MHP, as a company of Ukrainian spirit and international scale, has invested and wants to continue investing in Croatia – stated Yuriy Kosyuk, founder and CEO of MHP.
MHP is also developing a chicken production project in the Sisak area, which has the potential to economically stimulate that part of the country and increase the export capacity of the domestic food industry. According to MHP’s experience, such projects significantly contribute to positive changes in the economy of the region in which they are developed, the statement concludes.
