Hanfa: The Collected Premium of Insurance Companies Increased by 12.5 Percent

The total collected premium of insurance companies in the first seven months of this year amounted to 1.1 billion euros, which is 12.5 percent higher compared to the same period last year, according to the monthly report of the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa).
In July 2024, a total of 14 insurance companies operated, and of the total premium they collected, 203.1 million euros related to life insurance premiums, while 925.7 million euros pertained to non-life insurance premiums.
In the structure of the collected non-life insurance premium, the most represented is liability insurance for the use of motor vehicles (36.7 percent), followed by motor vehicle insurance (18.9 percent) and fire and natural disaster insurance (9.3 percent).
The amount of settled claims by the end of July 2024 reached 759.4 million euros. Of this amount, 291.2 million euros related to life insurance, while 468.2 million euros pertained to non-life insurance.
In the total amount of settled claims in non-life insurance, liability insurance for the use of motor vehicles accounts for 41.2 percent, motor vehicle insurance 22 percent, and fire and natural disaster insurance 9.2 percent, as stated in Hanfa’s report.
Among insurance companies, the largest market share based on collected premiums is still held by Croatia osiguranje, with a premium growth of 9.6 percent year-on-year, amounting to 284.7 million euros. Meanwhile, Croatia osiguranje’s market share fell from 25.9 percent, as it was at the end of July last year, to 25.2 percent at the end of July this year.
The second is Euroherc osiguranje, with a market share of 12.4 percent and a collected premium growth of 9.7 percent, amounting to 140.1 million euros. Immediately following is Adriatic osiguranje, with a market share of 12.3 percent and a collected premium of 139.3 million euros, with a growth of 19 percent.
The fourth place is held by Allianz Hrvatska, whose collected premium increased by 21.4 percent year-on-year, amounting to 132.2 million euros, with a market share of 11.7 percent.
