In Dubrovnik this year, three million tourist overnight stays were achieved two weeks earlier than last year, as well as a total of 10 percent more overnight stays since the beginning of this year, the City of Dubrovnik reported on Tuesday.

With the earlier achievement of this number of overnight stays this year, Dubrovnik has once again confirmed itself as a leading tourist destination, and this success is attributed to the realization of planned goals and strategies implemented by all stakeholders in the tourism sector.

The City of Dubrovnik also states that the three million overnight stays, according to the eVisitor system, were recorded on August 23, and that from the beginning of this year until August 24, there were slightly more than 3 million overnight stays, which is 10 percent more than in the same period last year.

There was also a 10 percent increase in tourist arrivals, with around 947 thousand visitors.

– The success of a destination is not measured solely by the increase in the number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays, but this is just one of the indicators, albeit a very important one when considering the distribution of growth in overnight stay figures. The City of Dubrovnik has ensured double-digit growth in 2024 by increasing the number of overnight stays in the pre-season and maintaining the number of overnight stays in the main season as in 2023 – say the City officials.

They also emphasize that Dubrovnik is now an example of ‘a completely different story’ than before when it was ‘an example of mass tourism on the world map’, and this is achieved through new tourism management rather than prohibitions. They add that Dubrovnik is also expecting an excellent post-season.
