The company Bugatti Rimac today unveiled the new car Nevera R at the automotive event The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering in California. According to the company’s statement, designed as the ‘aggressive alter ego of Nevera’, it represents a transition from hyper Grand Tourer cars to hyper sports cars.

The number of produced Nevera R cars will be limited to 40 units worldwide, with a starting price of 2.3 million euros. For comparison, the price of the first Nevera introduced in 2021 was 2 million euros, and it is unknown how many of the planned 150 units of Nevera have been produced. It is only known that 50 have been sold so far, as stated by the CEO of Rimac Group Mate Rimac at a conference in London.

When developing Nevera, an important part of the task was to make the car a Grand Tourer, Rimac explained.

– We made sure it was a spacious and comfortable car that represents a balance between excitement and usability, intuitive handling. The final product perfectly established that balance: we got a high-performance car that set numerous world records and can be comfortably driven thousands of kilometers across different continents. It was a milestone in the hypercar market: the first electric hypercar leading a new generation and setting the performance bar to a new level. But we have constantly adapted it to customer desires, many of whom wanted a car that emphasizes Nevera’s ability to handle corners thanks to its built-in advanced technology. Our answer to that is Nevera R: it possesses the DNA of the record-breaking Nevera, but is faster and more focused, Rimac stated.

Designers and engineers at Bugatti Rimac and Rimac Technology have thoroughly defined Nevera’s characteristics and modified certain elements and driving dynamics to create a new character from Nevera. In addition to a more focused driving dynamic, performance-oriented battery, higher power (2107 horsepower), and advanced brakes, Nevera R also has a refreshed visual identity. It reaches a speed of 100 km/h in 1.81 seconds and 300 km/h in 8.66 seconds.

We remind you that this news comes less than two months after Rimac introduced its long-awaited robotaxis, which were planned to be on the streets this year. However, as Rimac stated in an interview with Index journalist Ilko Ćimić, ‘you can’t always predict everything’.

Just before that, Rimac presented a new Bugatti Tourbillon in Molsheim, France, which, as he said, was fully developed in Croatia, with a starting price of 3.8 million euros.
