The average monthly net salary paid per employee in legal entities in the City of Zagreb for May this year amounted to 1,518 euros, which is nominally 0.5 percent lower than in April, but 16.5 percent higher compared to May of last year.
According to data from the City Office for Economy, Environmental Sustainability and Strategic Planning, the highest average monthly net salary in legal entities for May was paid in the extraction of crude oil and natural gas – 2,216 euros.
The lowest salary, on the other hand, was paid in the production of leather and related products – 867 euros.
The median net salary for May was 1,294 euros, meaning that half of the employees earned less and half earned more than that amount.
Compared to the average monthly salary for May at the national level, which was 1,324 euros, the average net salary paid in Zagreb for that month was higher by 194 euros.
The average monthly gross salary per employee in legal entities in the City of Zagreb for May this year amounted to 2,165 euros, which is 0.7 percent less compared to April, but 17.1 percent more compared to May 2023.
