The most desirable employers in Croatia in the manufacturing industry are Rimac Group, INA – Oil Industry, Atlantic Group, Pliva Croatia, and Coca-Cola HBC Croatia, according to the research conducted by the Employer of Choice, published on Wednesday by the portal MojPosao.

The research on the employers of choice was conducted by Alma Career Croatia via the MojPosao portal on a sample of over 25,000 respondents during 2023. The research is conducted annually for the 19th consecutive year.

In sixth place among the ten most desirable employers in the manufacturing industry is Jadran-Galenski Laboratory, seventh is Podravka, eighth is Končar, ninth is Jamnica plus, and in tenth place is Kraš.

According to the research results, just under half of the respondents, 48 percent, highlighted opportunities for advancement in their profession and the possibility of learning as what attracts them to the most desirable employers in the manufacturing industry. In second place on the list are good interpersonal relationships and a positive atmosphere at the workplace (42 percent), and in third place is good treatment of employees by superiors (41 percent). Among other factors, job security and the good reputation of the company stand out.

The research also showed that almost half of the respondents, 49 percent, whose employer of choice is a company from the manufacturing industry often think about changing jobs. This is a slightly higher percentage of employees than is the case with the overall sample (47 percent). One in three workers (36 percent) sometimes thinks about changing employers, while 14 percent of people never think about quitting.

When it comes to the most important benefits they expect from their employers of choice, respondents most often mentioned bonuses for outstanding achievements, continuous education, reimbursement for travel expenses, flexible working hours, and paid health services. Payment of bonuses for recommending future employees and subsidizing costs for cultural, sports, or relaxing activities are the least important benefits, the participants of the research emphasize.

The research, as stated in the announcement, is based solely on the perception of respondents about the companies themselves and their free choice (the names of companies were not pre-offered in the research). The aim of the research was to find out which employers in the Croatian labor market are the most attractive to the general public and to highlight those that have progressed the most. Respondents were asked to name (in order) their three employers of choice, with employers of ‘first’ choice receiving 3 points,’second’ choice 2 points, and ‘third’ choice 1 point, and based on that, the overall ranking of employers was calculated.
