Producer Prices in July Fell by Three Percent Year-on-Year

Producer prices of industrial products in July were 1.2 percent higher than in June, while they fell by three percent compared to July of last year, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).

In July, producer prices in the domestic market increased by 1.6 percent on a monthly basis, while they fell by 4.5 percent year-on-year.

In the foreign market, producer prices in July compared to June were higher by 0.6 percent, while they were lower by 0.2 percent compared to July of last year.

According to the main industrial groupings, year-on-year producer prices of industrial products increased for durable goods for general consumption by 1.8 percent, for non-durable goods for general consumption by 1.3 percent, and for capital goods by 0.1 percent.

At the same time, producer prices of energy fell by 9.2 percent and intermediate products by 0.6 percent.

In July compared to June, producer prices of industrial products increased for energy by 3.5 percent, for capital goods by 0.2 percent, and for intermediate products by 0.2 percent.

Producer prices for non-durable goods for general consumption fell by 0.1 percent, while those for durable goods for general consumption remained stable.

According to the National Classification of Activities (NKD), in July compared to June, producer prices increased in mining and quarrying by 11.3 percent, in manufacturing by 1.1 percent, and in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning by 0.7 percent. At the same time, they fell in water supply; wastewater management, waste management, and environmental remediation activities by 0.6 percent.

Year-on-year, producer prices increased in water supply; wastewater management, waste management, and environmental remediation activities by 1.1 percent and in manufacturing by 0.8 percent, while they fell in mining and quarrying by 14.9 percent and in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning by 12.3 percent.
