Industrial Production in June Fell for the Seventh Consecutive Month

Industrial production in Croatia fell in June of this year for the seventh consecutive month on a year-on-year basis, and more sharply than a month earlier.

The Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) announced on Monday that the volume of industrial production in June decreased by 3.7 percent compared to the previous month, while it fell by 8.3 percent compared to June of last year.

This marks the seventh consecutive month that production has declined on a year-on-year basis, and it is sharper than a month earlier when it slipped by 3.3 percent.

In June, production on a year-on-year basis according to the main industrial groupings (GIG) fell in all five sectors, with the largest decline of 16 percent in the production of durable goods for general consumption.

Following with a decline of 14.2 percent is energy, while the production of capital goods fell by 12.6 percent, non-durable goods for general consumption by 6.5 percent, and intermediate goods by 3.5 percent.

In the first six months of this year, industrial production fell by 4.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
