Mohamed Alabbar, founder and chairman of Eagle Hills Group, expressed his confidence in the Croatian economy and the continuous development of the country, particularly within the tourism sector, and announced his readiness for further investments. According to a statement, Eagle Hills is already present in the tourism sector in Croatia, owning the hotel group Bluesun, and the latest major investment relates to the acquisition of the hotel company Sunny Hvar, which Alabbar highlighted as one of the largest investments in the region. Currently, a procedure is underway at the Competition Protection Agency regarding the request for the merger of Eagle Hills, Sunny Hvar, and Sunny Hvar Properties.

– Regarding the acquisition of Sunny Hvar, we understand that this is a long-term process that requires strict compliance with regulations, which we fully respect, and we believe that we will ensure the integrity of our transaction through this process. As we have proven in our previous management of tourism companies in Croatia, we are particularly committed to developing quality and open cooperation with the local community, taking care of the systematic and sustainable improvement of the quality of the tourism offer and the entire destination. Hvar, as the flagship of Croatian tourism and one of the most beautiful islands in the world, undoubtedly deserves such an approach – said Alabbar, emphasizing that he believes that ‘the company’s investments will bring significant and lasting value to the local economy and the entire community’.

Alabbar emphasized that Eagle Hills has unquestionable confidence in this process and in the promising future of the Croatian hotel sector, and he also expressed his own optimism regarding the Croatian economic perspective and successful tourism future.

– We are grateful to the Government of the Republic of Croatia, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, and the relevant ministers for their constructive relationship and open cooperation during the realization of previous investments in Croatia, and we believe that we will have quality relationships and support during our future investments as well. I would also like to particularly highlight the support we received from the UAE ambassador to Croatia and the Croatian ambassador to the UAE, as well as the foreign ministers of both countries. Their commitment to fostering a favorable business environment for investments from the United Arab Emirates and strengthening relations between our two countries is extremely significant. We look forward to collaborating on future investments in the growing Croatian tourism sector and will continue to explore opportunities for investments in other sectors – added Alabbar.
