Goldman Graff, an international precious metals trading company, concluded the past year in Croatia with excellent results. With revenue slightly below 22 million euros, in its first year of operation, Goldman Graff made it onto the list of the thousand most successful Croatian companies, and was also included by the media on the list of 50 upcoming brands from various economic sectors ready to take on leadership positions in their industries.

Safes for citizens insured up to one million euros

In the Croatian market of investment gold and silver, which has been dominated for years by a few companies, Goldman Graff has established itself with new services and an innovative approach to clients. In addition to the sale and purchase of investment products, the company was the first in Croatia to open its own vault for storing gold under maximum security conditions and introduced storage in individual compartments in safes for citizens insured up to one million euros.

– This is a unique service in Croatia based on our working postulates: maximum security, but also maximum adaptability to the needs of clients. This allows the client to carry out all activities related to investment gold in one place, at our sales office: they can pick up gold, store it in their own compartment in the vault of the most renowned European safe manufacturer, the German company Wertheim, and if necessary, sell it later. In this way, gold and silver – which is often measured in hundreds of thousands of euros per order of an individual client – do not leave our premises and are under insurance the entire time, said Vladimir Potočki, CEO of Goldman Graff, adding that this service has so far been available in sales offices in Rijeka and Ljubljana, and will be available in Zagreb from mid-July.

An App as a Center for Managing Gold and Silver Portfolios

In addition to regional sales offices in Zagreb (Radnička 54 – Green Gold Center), Rijeka (Andrije Medulića 6), and Ljubljana (Miklošičeva 14), Goldman Graff has enabled the purchase and sale of investment gold through an online store, as well as an app available for Android and iPhone, as a unique platform for managing one’s own portfolio that provides deeper insights into the entire precious metals market.

– Our app is designed to provide anyone, regardless of their initial knowledge of the gold and silver market or experience in investing in precious metals, with enough information for a quality insight. Users can check the current price of gold and silver on global exchanges, track historical trends, use an investment calculator to calculate changes in portfolio value, follow current events and news, enable notifications for changes in the market price of gold or specific items, as well as purchase gold and silver directly from the app. It is completely free to use regardless of whether you are a Goldman Graff customer, said Potočki.

Recycling and Purchasing Gold

In addition to the sale and purchase of investment metals, storage, and delivery of gold, Goldman Graff offers its clients education on the advantages and risks of investing in gold, as well as a gold purchasing service, which significantly differs from the usual one for the Croatian market.

The purchase of gold is not a source of profit for us, but exclusively a way to obtain raw materials that we use in collaboration with LBMA-certified mints to create new products from investment gold. Therefore, the goal is recycling and refining gold, which represents a far more environmentally acceptable alternative to mining as an option for obtaining raw materials. Besides environmental reasons, mining, especially in parts of the ‘Third World’, is problematic for humanitarian reasons, as cases of exploitation or child labor are not uncommon. For all these reasons, old gold such as jewelry, watches, and even dental gold helps us create positive value for society as a whole. Of course, we adequately finance that value, meaning we pay users of the gold purchasing service at market prices transparently displayed on price lists available on our website and in the office. The purchase of gold as an activity in Croatia often has a negative image, but everywhere in the world it is a necessary prerequisite for the normal functioning of the entire gold market as it enables the ‘closure’ of the system, explained Potočki.
