Podravka Builds New Transport Center Worth Three Million Euros

The construction site of the new Podravka Transport Center has been ceremonially opened, which will replace the existing outdated facility. The investment, valued at approximately three million euros, is part of a strong investment cycle of the Podravka Group, with an expected duration of about six months.

Podravka will significantly improve its transport infrastructure, and the location of the new Transport Center, in close proximity to the soon-to-be-completed logistics and distribution center, will significantly increase the overall efficiency of logistics operations.

– After the construction of the logistics and distribution center, this investment continues the modernization of logistics, and together they will represent a synergy that will enable the consolidation of storage capacities and transport, thus allowing for much more efficient operations than before. This is a comprehensive modern facility that a multinational company like Podravka truly deserves – said Gordan Drnas, director of Podravka Logistics, during the opening of the construction site, adding that Podravka’s transport fleet travels over 3.6 million kilometers annually.

The new Transport Center will also improve traffic safety and working conditions, and its construction includes a workshop for repairing freight vehicles and forklifts, offices for organizing transport, changing rooms, sanitary facilities, a vehicle wash, a fuel station, and parking for 28 freight vehicles, as well as for employees’ personal vehicles.

– With this investment, our investment cycle is nearing completion. This facility, together with the logistics and distribution center, will be the heart and starting point of Podravka’s logistics and transport. I am particularly pleased that this new facility, like all others we have worked on so far, will improve the working conditions of our employees and provide them with modern conditions where they will have everything they need for uninterrupted work in one place – added Martina Dalić, president of Podravka’s Management Board.

Let us remind you that Podravka is currently at the peak of a strong investment cycle that began in 2021, during which approximately 250 million euros will be invested by the end of this year. All investments are carried out under the same common denominators, namely modernization, digitalization, sustainable development, and further enhancing the company’s competitiveness on a global level.
