The eyes of the Croatian nation have been focused on Germany in recent days. How could they not be when the most important secondary thing in the world is the reason for the heated atmosphere across Europe?! Despite almost tropical temperatures and the tradition of Germans coming to us in June, the Croatian product was presented to “them”. Grown on the red-and-white checkered chest of mother and in the land of ancestors, it showed superiority in the northern hemisphere. After a blind tasting by a professional judging panel, organized to ensure impartiality and high standards in evaluation, the Istrian extra virgin olive oil Torač Superior won a gold medal at the prestigious Berlin Global Olive Oil Awards – Northern Hemisphere (Berlin GOOA 2024)! The competition gathered over 700 samples of olive oil from 22 countries.

However, Torač Superior – buža puntoža shone not only in the host country of this year’s European Football Championship. This oil was crowned in the land of kings and footballers, the Premier League! At the London International Olive Oil Competitions (LIOOC 2024), Torač Superior was awarded a gold medal, its second medal! At the same competition, the Poreč Torač d.o.o. of the Milotić family was also awarded gold for its leccino oil.

– Superior monosort oil consists of the first fruits of the indigenous buža puntoža olives processed at the very beginning of processing. Our oil is an elixir obtained from a limited number of olives. It is characterized by intense green fruitiness with an aromatic profile of tomatoes and artichokes, along with harmonious spiciness and bitterness. It is an excellent addition to salads, grilled vegetables, young cheeses, and white fish. The monosort extra virgin olive oil of the leccino variety is harmonious and medium green in fruitiness, with a mild note of bitterness and spiciness. In aroma and taste, you will sense notes of grass, olive leaf, almonds, apple, green banana, and arugula. This oil pairs ideally with light salads, white meat dishes, and fish specialties. Although the tradition of olive growing spans six family generations – from my great-grandfather Vincenzo to my father Ivica and now me, these are the first gold medals for our oils, making the taste of success even sweeter – said young Vinko Milotić.

As many verses have sung – the first kiss is remembered. So too is the pairing of Torač Superior oil with the blessings of the Mediterranean and the ingredients of one of the most famous world cuisines, a taste that is remembered – now even crowned with gold. And everything beautiful is dear to God, and the people value God, so Torač Superior this summer in London also “harvested” an award for packaging. And not just any packaging, but one with a platinum shine! Gold was also won for the “total image” of the Superior bottle.

– The stone mill Torač has symbolized the art of processing olive fruits into extra virgin olive oil for two millennia. The seemingly rough stone block has recently become the visual identity of our oil mill under which the brand of extra virgin olive oil Torač is marketed. The new look consists of white terracotta bottles, a symbol of virginity, while the label highlights the lines of the torč in the recognizable colors of Istrian land and olive varieties: gray, red, green, and gold. Torač thus symbolizes the wheel that turns and moves, marking the circle of life. The label of the Superior oil is woven from golden lines of the torč. Now their meaning is even richer, as gold and the platinum medal in Torač infuse new strength. The wheel of our own oil mill Torač, from where Torač oil emerges, truly moves the world – added the young owner Milotić.

And finally, a bit of statistics, the kind that is loved in the world of football: one month, one packaging, two labels, two competitions. In other words – one Torač in June 2024 won as many as four golds and a platinum medal for Superior and Leccino!
