- I am inspired by professional literature, but also by science fiction novels
- Every idea seems impossible until someone makes it happen
- We must find a way to present our visions to citizens and city administrations
Few young architects can boast a biography like that of Alen Žunić, owner of the architectural firm Albatros and an assistant professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb.
Žunić graduated with an average of 5.0 in Architecture and then furthered his education at prestigious institutions such as Harvard, MIT, ETH Zurich, and Columbia University NY, published 15 authored and edited books, and won numerous awards including the HAZU Award, the City of Zagreb Award, and the ‘Vera Johanides’ Award for the best young scientist in Croatia.
For this young scientist and architect, architecture is a calling, while urbanism and city planning are his passion. In a new episode of Lider’s podcast with journalist and host Sandra Babić, he spoke about why he decided to return to Croatia after studying abroad, whether urbanism is a myth, and how an architect’s vision can be turned into reality.
