Hrvatska pošta has confirmed its commitment to establishing excellent HR practices with the Employer Partner certificate. The certificate was awarded by SELECTIO Group, the leading Croatian group specialized in human resources consulting. Each year, companies must renew their certificate holder status to prove that they continue to implement HR practices according to the highest standards. The company’s success in maintaining the certificate highlights its ongoing efforts to attract, develop, engage, retain, and empower employees.

During the certification process, Hrvatska pošta improved its overall scoring compared to the previous certification and maintained a high standard in all assessment areas. Significant progress was achieved in the areas of Attraction and Employment, Onboarding and Development, Transformation and Growth, and Departure and Return.

The maximum score was achieved in the area of Attraction and Employment due to a well-developed and long-term employment strategy, as well as systematic documentation and implementation of the annual employer branding strategy. In the area of Onboarding and Development, the commitment to developing the knowledge of all employees stands out. Almost 90 percent of employees undergo additional training, and an eLearning System is available for the development and acquisition of new knowledge and skills, with 57 trainings currently active. The eLearning System offers training for knowledge development in daily operations, legal training, as well as training for the development of soft skills and digital knowledge. The area of Transformation and Growth records high scores due to a clear communication structure related to communicating changes in the organization and systematic work on strengthening interdepartmental cooperation. Additionally, a culture of innovation is systematically encouraged.

During the certification, the program ‘Recommend a Colleague’ by Hrvatska pošta was particularly highlighted. This is a well-designed internal referral program, where an employee who refers a candidate that gets hired receives a monetary reward. Hrvatska pošta manages the candidate experience and open applications in accordance with best practices. There is also a clearly defined salary system, as well as employee rewards through annual evaluations that contain all the best elements in line with best practices.

Furthermore, Hrvatska pošta is now present on all relevant social media platforms where it actively promotes its employer brand, and employees are ambassadors of the company. Clear and timely communication has also been highly rated as changes in the organization and all important business-related information are communicated to employees clearly and in real-time, and this communication has been further enhanced and improved in the past year by the internal social network Jenz.

The Director of the Human Resources Management Office, Ivana Mirković Pogorilić, received the Employer Partner certificate from Aleksandar Zemunić, the director of SELECTIO Group, and on that occasion stated: ‘All of us in human resources across different companies learn from each other and share knowledge as we face similar challenges. Hrvatska pošta, like many other employers in the labor market, has been facing challenges in finding adequate workforce and turnover in certain areas for some time now. In the last two years, we have therefore launched numerous initiatives to retain them, from a 20 percent salary increase in 2022 to a new wave of salary increases in the last six months of 25 percent, loyalty rewards of 1200 euros, occasional rewards, and benefits. You can retain people, on one hand, with competitive salaries, but also with optimal working conditions and an adequate company culture and good relationships between employees and management.
