The Digital Chamber of HGK is an e-service platform with over 88,000 registered users, and new ones are constantly joining. The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The aim of the project is the digitization of procedures such as digital document issuance and enabling even more active participation of entrepreneurs in the creation and modification of the legislative and regulatory framework.

Where are the innovative solutions

Digitalization is a process that fundamentally changes the economy. It most often refers to the transformation of business models using digital technologies and the broader use of digital data to create added value for business.

According to DESI – the Digital Economy and Society Index – for 2023, Croatia still lags behind in digital public services, especially in services for businesses and the overall modernization of public services with innovative solutions.

Constant Change and Development

The goal of the Croatian Chamber of Economy is to demonstrate the path for companies through digital transition and contribute to the provision of public services using digital tools. For this reason, it was among the first to undergo digital transformation – it has been fully digitalized for four years.

– Innovation and agility are key to providing top-notch service to users and establishing the platform’s position as a reliable and desirable tool. The services on the Digital Chamber platform continuously evolve to meet the needs and demands of users and to keep up with technological and market trends – existing services are improved and new ones are developed. Continuously raising the bar in the world of digital platforms is an essential item for the platform to provide quality business support to existing and new small, medium, and large companies as well as other users – said the director of the Center for Digital Development Ines Rukljač.

Key Modules, Services, and Applications

On the e-Business Information platform, users can access an overview of business and economic information, such as searches for business entities useful for competitive research. Within this module, users of the Digital Chamber can also request access to the e-Office for Business. This is an application for simple and intuitive business support, which contains multiple modules and is available at all times and from any device. An overview of public procurement tenders is also available.

Through e-Education, users access online and offline training. In addition to the online version, some training can also be followed live. In the Masterclass section, advanced training in the domain of digital transition is available. Users can learn about artificial intelligence in business and robotic process automation.

On e-Financing, users can find available funding sources for their projects and review tenders related to EU funds and local governments. They can also create a business plan for analyzing the success of a business venture.

e-Fairs and Promotions allow users to view an interactive world map with a list of fairs and information about them, as well as a list of fairs supported by HGK.

The goal of the e-Public Authority service is to facilitate and expedite processes, such as registrations in specific HGK registers, issuing permits or certificates under HGK’s jurisdiction. Users can submit requests and obtain all documents based on public authorities entrusted to the Chamber – from ATA Carnets for temporary import into a foreign country to a complete set of services for real estate agents.

As part of HGK Pulse, in a special section, the chief economist of HGK Goran Šaravanja analyzes key economic indicators and events in Croatia and the world. Sector analyses, county indices, and analyses of economic trends are also available as part of HGK Pulse.
