This Thursday, the global finale of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year program will take place in Monaco, organized by the consulting and auditing firm EY, during which the new EY World Entrepreneur of the Year will be announced. Competing against 51 entrepreneurs from 47 countries worldwide, Croatian entrepreneurship will be represented this year by Ivo Usmiani, one of the founders, the first director, and the chairman of the Management Board of JGL, the largest Croatian pharmaceutical company in domestic ownership, established in 1991 as the first private pharmaceutical joint-stock company in the country.
The grand global finale lasts three days, from June 4 to June 7, during which Usmiani will have the opportunity to connect with the global business community and meet other candidates competing for this prestigious award.

A World-Class Event
During the three-day program, the Croatian delegation will have the opportunity to participate in workshops and panel discussions alongside prominent business leaders and top speakers, as well as network and connect with fellow entrepreneurs from around the world.
This year’s global selection will gather 51 entrepreneurs from 47 countries worldwide, and we will find out who will be named the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year for 2024 on Thursday, June 6, at the award ceremony.

Ivo Usmiani is the ninth Croatian representative at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year selection. The first Croatian edition was held in 2014 when the title of the first Croatian EY Entrepreneur of the Year was awarded to the duo Alan Sumina and Zoran Vučinić from the company Nanobit. The following year, Đuro Horvat from the company Tehnix was named the best. Marko Pipunić from the Osijek company Žito was declared the winner in 2016, while the recognition for the fourth edition of the Croatian EY Entrepreneur of the Year went to Mate Rimac, founder and owner of Rimac Group. At the milestone fifth edition, Silvio Kutić, Roberto Kutić, and Izabel Jelenić from Infobip celebrated, while the following year, the prestigious title was awarded to Hrvoje Josip Balen, Mislav Balković, and Tomislav Dominković from Algebra. At the seventh edition, the title of the most successful was awarded to Stiven Toš and Miljenko Borščak from Bomark Pak, while the following year, Vjekoslav Majetić from DOK-ING celebrated, who was also our representative at the world selection in Monaco last year.
