Badel 1862, the leading producer of strong alcoholic beverages in Croatia and the Adriatic region, has recognized the value and previous results of the Zagreb craft distillery Duh u boci and, as a strategic investor, has decided to support its further development. The funds obtained from the investment by Badel 1862 will be used by Duh u boci to continue the development of its business, which includes the construction of a new distillery and the expansion of production with a new product – craft whiskey. Duh u boci will continue to operate as a premium craft-distillery, while Badel 1862, through recapitalization and taking over distribution, supports investments in expanding production capacities and strengthening the market positions of its products.
– As a strategic investor, we are entering into co-ownership of the leading Croatian craft-producer of premium strong alcoholic beverages with the desire to support its further development and growth. Namely, in the category of premium strong alcoholic beverages, premium craft-products such as those produced by Duh u boci hold a special place. This has motivated us for this strategic investment, which will positively impact not only Badel 1862 and Duh u boci but also the entire domestic industry – stated Lovro Vučković, marketing director of Badel 1862.
The company Duh u boci was founded in 2017 by Hrvoje Bušić and Tomislav Anadolac. Their first product was Old Pilot’s Gin, which was declared the best in the world in the London Dry gin category at the ‘International Wine and Spirits Competition’ in 2019.
