During the spectacular Sports Emmy Awards ceremony held on Tuesday in New York, prominent producer and creative director of CBS Sports Pete Radovich won four prestigious awards in the categories of Outstanding Live Special, Outstanding Edited Special, Outstanding Documentary Series – Serialized, and Outstanding Open/Tease.

In the extremely strong competition of the Outstanding Documentary Series category, globally popular series such as Netflix’s Drive to Survive, Hard Knocks, and Quarterbacks with Patrick Mahomes were present, and the Emmy went to Pete Radovich for the documentary Football Must Go On, which had its world premiere last year at the Sunset Sports Media Festival (SSMF) in Zadar. In his acceptance speech, Radovich highlighted how this documentary came about and thanked his compatriot Dario Srna, president of Shakhtar Donetsk, who readily agreed to cooperate and allowed filming of his team to tell their story to the world amid the war in Ukraine.

– This Emmy is particularly significant for me because I am recognized in America for the first time during my career for something that has a connection to Croatia. The world premiere at the Sunset Sports Media Festival in Zadar, my mother’s hometown, as well as the connection with Dario Srna in this story, made this moment truly special and unforgettable for me. I plan to bring this Emmy to Croatia and keep it at my mother’s house in Zadar – said Pete Radovich, a multi-award-winning producer and creative director of CBS Sports and ambassador of the Sunset Sports Media Festival.

Pete Radovich won three Emmy awards for the production of Super Bowl LVIII held on February 11, which became the most-watched television program in American history with 124 million viewers. As a creative director and vice president of production, Radovich was responsible for the opening show and the game broadcast. One of the three awards was for the opening show My Way, for which he produced and directed a remix of Frank Sinatra’s song, with permission from the Sinatra family. This success is further confirmed by the fact that Radovich has won the Emmy for Outstanding Open in six of the last seven Super Bowls he has produced. Another Emmy was won as a coordinating producer for the NFL documentary You Are Looking Live! in the category of Outstanding Edited Special, which showcased the history and essence of the NFL.

Pete Radovich, whose roots are deeply connected to Croatia, is a senior creative director and vice president of production at CBS Sports, and his expertise and talent are recognized worldwide. With these latest achievements, Pete Radovich has won a total of 45 Emmy awards in 18 different categories throughout his rich career, placing him at the top of the global sports media industry.

All sports and media enthusiasts have a unique opportunity to meet and listen to interesting stories from Pete Radovich in early June in Zadar at the third edition of the globally recognized Sunset Sports Media Festival. As the ambassador of this prestigious event, Pete is also one of the reasons why the most decorated coach in American football history, Bill Belichick, is coming to Zadar, and the impressive list of speakers includes celebrated footballer Alessandro Del Piero, award-winning biographer of the greatest footballers Guillem Balague, sports giant Ivica Kostelić, versatile tennis player Bojana Jovanović, and many other big names.
