Addiko Bank and Mastercard have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the digital user experience for cardholders. In response to demands for greater transaction transparency, Ethoca, Mastercard’s innovative solution, will provide Addiko Bank clients with a more detailed overview of their purchases and other transactions.

By introducing this new card service in the mobile and online application, Addiko Bank offers Mastercard card users more information about transactions: the merchant’s name, logo or graphic representation of the merchant, and the location of the purchase. The more detailed data available will help them quickly and reliably determine which purchases are legitimate.

A recent Mastercard study showed that as many as 77 percent of users have difficulty identifying their transactions in digital banking, which often causes concern, confusion, and a sense of helplessness. The goal of the collaboration between Addiko Bank and Mastercard is precisely to alleviate these uncertainties.

– We are proud to be the first bank in Croatia to introduce this Mastercard innovative solution for transparent transaction display. By providing our clients with additional information about card transactions, we aim to enhance the digital banking user experience, reduce feelings of uncertainty, and reaffirm our commitment to providing advanced modern services – stated Petra Bašić Jantolić, Executive Director of Client Business Development at Addiko Bank.

Merchant logos or graphic representations in Addiko’s mobile and online application serve as clear visual markers, helping card users quickly recognize and verify their purchases.

– At Mastercard, we are guided by the fact that card users want fast, simple, and secure solutions. Accordingly, we develop innovative solutions to help achieve a safer digital economy and provide support to merchants and financial institutions. Our Ethoca solution is particularly significant in today’s context of the growing popularity of online and mobile banking. The transparency we provide to users brings even greater control over their transactions – said Gea Kariž, General Director of Mastercard Croatia.

As digital banking becomes the primary channel for 60 percent of card users who use it more than once a week, this partnership aims for a better and safer user experience, fewer refund requests, and stronger collaboration between card users, merchants, and the bank.
