Through its affiliated company JANAF OIE Adriatic Pipeline has signed a Purchase Agreement for 100 percent of the shares in the company Solar Energy Vođinci and investment in a solar power plant in Vođinci, near Vinkovci, with a projected installed capacity of 14.2857 MW and a connection capacity of 9.99 MW. The project is in the construction start phase, building permits have been obtained, and the expected date for the solar power plant in Vođinci to commence operations is March 1, 2025.
– Immediately upon the adoption of the JANAF Transition and Development Strategy for the period from 2022 to 2030 with a vision until 2050, in which we committed to the green transformation of our business, we began implementing concrete steps to achieve the set goals. The acquisition of the solar power plant project is the first tangible result of our new strategic direction. Without neglecting the security of supply for Central Europe and neighboring countries, we will continue to develop the renewable energy business segment, so that JANAF becomes a respectable player in the Croatian electricity market – said Stjepan Adanić, CEO of JANAF.
The strong financial position in which the Adriatic Pipeline finds itself, thanks to exceptionally successful operations, has opened up opportunities for the company to invest in renewable energy sources.
– With great satisfaction regarding the realization of the first acquisition of a project in the field of renewable energy sources, I emphasize that this is just the first such investment as we are currently considering a number of other greenfield and mature projects of this kind at various stages of business activities. With this project, we confirm our intention and readiness to diversify our business and create new values for further development and growth of the company – highlighted Vladislav Veselica, a member of the Management Board of JANAF.
Namely, since the adoption of the JANAF Transition and Development Strategy for the period from 2022 to 2030 with a vision until 2050, JANAF has been actively implementing activities aimed at diversifying its business and transforming the company into a green energy company. So far, JANAF has realized integrated solar power projects at its terminals in Sisak, Žitnjak, and Omišalj, and unintegrated solar power plants are being prepared at locations in Slavonski Brod, Omišalj, and Žitnjak in Zagreb.
