HT’s mobile network is the best in Croatia; all telecoms have improved services

The mobile network of Hrvatski Telekom has once again been recognized as the best in Croatia, confirmed by the results of an independent measurement of mobile network quality in Croatia organized by the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Activities (HAKOM), according to which HT’s network achieved the best results in all categories. HT’s network demonstrated the best performance in voice and data traffic services, in cities, small towns, roads, and highways.

With a total of 888.2 points, HT achieved the best overall result, followed by A1 Hrvatska with a total of 824.2 points. Telemach Hrvatska took third place with a total of 788.7 points, which is 99.5 points behind HT and 35.5 points behind A1.

In voice service, HT achieved the best performance, with 17.2 points more than A1 Hrvatska and 40.2 points more than Telemach, while in data traffic, it was even 46.8 points more than A1 and 59.3 points more than Telemach.

HT also achieved the best results in all four major cities in all parameters, both in voice and data traffic – in Zagreb, it achieved a total of 920 points, in Split 903.7 points, in Rijeka 899.3 points, and in Osijek 928.8 points.

Good indicators

As HAKOM states, the measurement showed that all three Croatian telecoms have improved their mobile networks in the past year and that they remain very good or excellent compared to other operators from the EU.

– The most important indicators for all three networks are excellent: voice and WhatsApp calls have a call setup success rate of 99 percent, as well as file downloads or loading web pages. The highest measured average download speed of the internet is above 370 Mbit/s, the lowest measured average is 211 Mbit/s, while the highest average upload speed is 54 Mbit/s, and the lowest is 36.5 Mbit/s – HAKOM states.

The quality measurement of mobile networks in Croatia covered 31 cities and approximately 5000 kilometers of roads and highways in Croatia. The measurements were conducted during February and March of this year by the specialized company Commsquare Hellas. Testing was carried out in areas inhabited by approximately two million residents, or over 50 percent of the total population.

The maximum number of points was one thousand, of which 600 points were for data services and 400 points for voice services. During testing, around 3100 samples for voice services were collected, and more than 2100 samples per individual test scenario for data services for each operator, and measurements were conducted using a drive test system, i.e., measurement while driving.
