As many as 15 brilliant ideas will expand the green belt this year and contribute to the preservation of our planet. The winning projects were selected based on clearly defined criteria that include the expansion of green areas, sustainability, revitalization of land and water areas, preservation of biodiversity, combating climate change, and education. Additionally, three kindergarten projects were presented on INA’s YouTube channel, where the criterion was the highest number of views.

A total of 60,000 euros will be allocated for the implementation of the selected projects, and some projects will be realized with the help of INA’s Volunteer Club. The competition was open from March 21 to April 21 and received 158 ideas.

The selected projects are:

  • Public Institution Nature Park Žumberak – Samoborsko Gorje – Learning from Schoolchildren – Return of Millennial Beauties

– We are pleased that this year’s INA Green Belt has again received many quality projects. Each of these projects represents a step forward in environmental preservation and promoting sustainable development. I am delighted to see how communities across Croatia demonstrate innovation and commitment to creating a greener tomorrow. I congratulate all the winners and look forward to collaborating with them in implementing their inspiring ideas. I hope their projects will serve as an example and encouragement for all of us – said Tamara Karagity, Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing at INA.

As an example of good practice, INA’s Green Belt program was included in the Global Sustainable Development Report for 2018 as it directly contributes to the preservation of life on Earth, one of the 17 global sustainable development goals of the United Nations.
