Young Entrepreneurs Continue to Develop Skills as Part of the ‘Finance for New Generations’ Project

In April, the ‘Finance for New Generations’ project, initiated by the Croatian Banking Association in collaboration with the European Investment Bank, continued. Young entrepreneurs had the opportunity to continue developing their business and communication skills in two new workshops. The workshops at the Ksaver Event Hub were attended by 30 previously selected young entrepreneurs.

Natalia Zielinska, owner of Euro Grant Consulting, led a workshop on understanding and applying EU funds in specific projects. As one of the leading experts in the field of EU funds and president of the HUP – Association of Professionals for European Union Funds, she introduced young entrepreneurs to the broader picture through practical examples and focused on learning the logic of EU funds and project thinking.

The workshop was interactive, and Zielinska answered all individual questions and discussed the participants’ ideas and how acceptable they were for EU funds and other similar and current competitions: – At the very beginning, it is important to clarify things and know whether we want to earn or ‘save the world’. I like that the participants are of different profiles and very curious; they asked excellent questions. I enjoyed it the whole time. –

Mirela Španjol, owner of the company Ciceron and one of the leading consultants in the field of rhetoric, communication, and public speaking, held a workshop on the power of persuasion and everything needed for effective presentation and public speaking. Španjol taught the workshop participants a series of public speaking, presentation, and communication tricks for various business occasions, but also emphasized the necessity of visibility when we are small entrepreneurs and particularly highlighted the connection between the same and the level of earnings. The main message that all participants took away was: – Take the microphone in your hands; presentation skills are skills that can be learned. If you master them, you will earn more. –

– I am very pleased to be part of this project. There is a huge connection between presentation skills and earnings, even though it may not seem so at first glance. The better you know how to present, the more you will earn. When we are small entrepreneurs, we do not have the luxury of hiding. Nothing happens if sales do not happen, and sales only happen through good communication. The key thought I wanted to convey to the participants was that it is not a matter of talent or personal identity, but a skill, and every skill can be learned – emphasized Mirela Španjol.

The project continues with the mission of empowering young entrepreneurs, offering them the tools and knowledge necessary for success in a dynamic business world. Both workshops proved to be extremely useful for young entrepreneurs, providing them not only with technical knowledge but also opportunities for networking. The next workshop, expected in early May, will focus on marketing and branding.

Participant Ivana Sabolčec Novosel, who is also a virtual assistant, expressed her delight in participating as she had a different perception of EU funds and now has a broader picture firsthand.

– My perspective has completely changed. I am thrilled with the entire program – added journalist and marketing expert Petra Pavlek, while architect Zlatan Omerhodžić stated that he learned a lot of new information and found this education very useful, as well as the networking.

– I am starting a cardiology clinic, and in this project, I am learning everything I need to run the business. The lecturers are very interesting to me; I like the format and the opportunity to ask questions and that we have time and opportunities for networking. Mirela’s lecture was very useful to me, and I believe I will be able to apply the acquired knowledge immediately – said participant Valentin Stuhne, while graphic designer and photographer Ana Vorkapić admitted that she has problems with public speaking and presenting herself and stated that such workshops are regularly needed by entrepreneurs.
