Kristijan Iličić Launches eSIM Application Lyntel in Dubai

Kristijan Iličić, a world traveler, entrepreneur, and owner of the travel agency Nomadik Travel, has launched the eSIM application Lyntel in Dubai with his business partners, which allows the purchase of data traffic in over 150 destinations and countries worldwide.

If you were wondering what eSIM is, it is a digital card that enables the activation of a carrier’s data plan without the use of a physical SIM card and functions as a user profile, without inserting a card into the phone. The eSIM market is growing day by day, says Iličić, which is evidenced by the fact that in the USA it is no longer possible to buy a new iPhone with a physical SIM, as everything operates with the help of eSIM.

For this reason, Iličić and his business partners designed the eSIM application Lyntel, which, as he says, will make life easier for people who travel a lot and frequently.

– As a person who constantly strives to create new web-based products, and ultimately as a person who, about twenty years ago, launched a very successful portal and sold it for a seven-figure sum and then, as the director of digital content at one of the then largest regional publishing houses, launched several more portals, I always knew that one day I would have my global application. Given that I have completely turned to travel, it was clear that the application had to have some connection to travel.

Over time, it somehow became apparent that this application had to be an application for connecting to the internet because I was constantly facing connection problems. This was particularly evident during my travels in West Africa when I crossed borders by land, from Senegal through country after country to the Ivory Coast. I had a problem finding where to buy a SIM card, and even then, the internet could be very poor. That’s why I decided that I would have my eSIM application that I could create exactly as I wanted, meaning that it would be easy to use, that the internet connection would be reliable, and most importantly – that I could connect to the internet as soon as I entered the country – said Iličić.

Explaining how he came up with the idea to create Lyntel, he said that during his trip to Dubai, he found himself among people engaged in various businesses, from programming to marketing to sales, and they quickly began discussing various topics. Iličić shared all his connection problems with them, and they, on the other hand, had a desire to start a project, perhaps even an application, that would open a new chapter in their work. In that conversation, he adds, they spontaneously came to the conclusion that it would be good for everyone sitting at that table to gather around this story and create an application for travelers.

10 Experts Working on the Application

We decided to establish a company in Dubai with the aim of making a breakthrough in that market, and thus the eSIM application Lyntel was born, with which we want to change the travel experience. Our vision is to provide quality and easily accessible internet to all who travel around the world, making every journey simpler and easier.

Lyntel was founded by me along with three other professionals of different profiles. There is Hasan, who is responsible for the commercial part, Anes – responsible for development, and Mohamed – responsible for product management and connectivity. We have already managed to expand our team to talented programmers, marketing experts, and designers, so currently, 10 individuals from Dubai, Jordan, Croatia, Bosnia, and Serbia are working on the Lyntel application – revealed Iličić.

One of the significant challenges they faced in developing the application was ensuring that Lyntel is simple and user-friendly. In addition, Iličić adds, it was necessary to master the complexity of eSIM technology, and they also needed to establish partnerships with global telecommunications service providers. They had to ensure that their application could securely deliver eSIM cards to users for installation and provide reliable connectivity to users wherever they traveled. They set themselves the task of ensuring the highest quality internet on the market, and in most cases, they had to compensate for that with price, prioritizing internet quality over lower prices.

It was also a challenge to align everything with telecommunications regulations and standards in different countries, Iličić added, as they had to meet regulatory requirements to ensure that Lyntel operates legally and safely in every market where it is available.

– Lyntel has ambitious plans for development beyond the standard eSIM provider, aiming to become a top travel application. We are committed to enhancing the travel experience by integrating new features and services that meet the needs of modern travelers.

One of our upcoming initiatives is the introduction of unlimited data packages, which provide users with more flexibility and freedom while traveling abroad. This addition will complement our existing range of data plans and further solidify Lyntel as the preferred choice for travelers seeking hassle-free connectivity. Additionally, in the coming month, we will introduce over 50 new countries and destinations – concludes Iličić.
