Yesterday, a fire broke out at the factory in Kerestinec, reported the Zagreb police without specifying which factory it was, while 24sata reports that it is the campus of Mate Rimac, and there were no injuries in this battery fire.
– Yesterday, April 25, around 2:30 PM on Kerestinečka Road in Kerestinec, a fire broke out in the company’s battery for currently unknown reasons. The fire was extinguished by firefighters, and there were no injuries. The material damage amounts to several tens of thousands of euros – the police reported.
The Rimac Group confirmed that a fire occurred at the campus, but they state that the situation was immediately brought under control.
– We can confirm that there was a minor thermal incident in the storage area of our campus during the transfer of sensitive materials. No one was injured, and apart from one pallet of materials – there is no damage to other materials or parts of the warehouse. The situation was immediately brought under control and will not affect the continuation of the move-in process. As Rimac Technology works daily with flammable materials, the internal emergency firefighting team is available 24/7 to ensure readiness and quick responses to potential similar situations that are not uncommon in the battery systems manufacturing industry. In addition to the response of the internal professional firefighting team, in similar situations, we are legally obliged to notify public services that then come to the scene – they announced.
