Forward to Health Innovation Program Opens Applications for the Third Generation of Participants

In the modern post-pandemic environment where technology is developing at a rapid pace, investing in health innovations has never been more important. Forward to Health Innovation is here to assist those who have an idea but do not know how to realize it.

The program is intended for innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and health professionals who want to develop innovative solutions in healthcare, addressing current issues that plague the health system. With its unique approach, it teaches participants the key steps necessary for their idea to become a reality.

Participants will learn how to approach market research and customer needs, how to validate their idea, how to align their product with legal regulations, and how to attract funding and investors.

– The innovation and success of our previous participants are proof that Croatia can be fertile ground for creating healthcare innovations with global reach. Through Forward to Health Innovation, we help startup teams bridge the gap between idea and market and contribute to the creation of a sustainable ecosystem that will contribute to a healthier society – said Filip Stipančić from Smion, one of the program’s initiators.

So far, two generations have completed the program, totaling 26 teams, of which 14 have been supported in their market entry, achieving pre-sales, raising investments, and other funding.

– Through this program, we received mentorship and assistance in developing our idea, in market research, and in the general approach to new ventures such as starting a project or a startup – said Jakov Lonić, a participant in the 2023 program.

Applications for the third generation of the Forward to Health Innovation program are open until May 8, 2024., and you can apply via the link.

An informational webinar titled Q&A session, where interested parties can learn more about the program, will be held on April 19. Registration for the webinar is done via the link.

The program has been organized for the third consecutive year by the University of Zagreb in its role as the EIT Health hub in Croatia and Smion.
