He is no stranger to painting work or the cover of Time magazine – the path to success is often unconventional, and no one knows this better than Timothy Goodman, the new guest on the stage of this year’s Communication Days! The festival of market communications, which will gather the creative, communication, and digital industry in Rovinj from April 11 to 14, is dedicated to typically atypical creativity that goes beyond the boundaries of rationality and follows its own rules, and this will be demonstrated by the lecture You Gotta Make a Lot of Stuff Before You Can Make Stuff Like Yourself by this celebrated artist, designer, illustrator, muralist, and author.
Timothy Goodman has one goal in life – to express himself authentically and fully. And that society recognizes this is shown by the fact that today his portfolio features not only beautiful designs on walls in Williamsburg but also collaborations with global brands such as Apple, Google, the Museum of Modern Art, and Yves Saint Laurent. He is an artist in the true sense of the word, and his illustrations have an important task: they spark significant dialogues about life and creativity.
He continuously finds new ways to talk about important topics, whether it’s decorating a basketball court in a school in Brooklyn or designing sneakers for Nike. The famous garbage trucks from New York adorned with drawings, as well as decorations on the walls of trendy hotels in New York – all of this is the work of this creative genius who does not accept boundaries and does not limit his art by location and format, so it can even be found on t-shirts of the popular brand Uniqlo. However, Goodman’s art stands out not only for its diversity but also for the strong impact it has on society.
– With incredible creative expression, the uniqueness of Goodman’s work lies in the fact that mental health, politics, and love are just some of the themes he focuses on in his creations. He comes to Communication Days with a very personal mission – he wants to return to the very beginning in the company of festival participants and offer his answer to the eternal question for the industry, but also beyond it: how to define meaning? We are eager to learn everything in Rovinj – said Anđela Buljan Šiber, a member of the festival’s organizing committee.
