Daytona, a domestic platform for managing development environments, has formed a strategic partnership with JetBrains, a leader in developer tools. This collaboration has placed Daytona in an exclusive group of development environment managers. As they announced, JetBrains recognized Daytona’s potential in increasing developer productivity.

Daytona is now a pre-installed option across the entire portfolio of tools offered by JetBrains. Excluding technology giants Amazon, Google, and Microsoft, JetBrains has included only three companies in its ecosystem, among which Daytona stands out, positioning itself alongside leading players in the industry.

This partnership brings a range of benefits for developers and their productivity. The goal of the collaboration is to facilitate the management of development environments and make it more intuitive. Developers will no longer have to switch between various interfaces and tools. This will enable programming teams to collaborate better and share project context, which will surely enhance their efficiency.

– At JetBrains, we recognize the changing nature of software development and the growing need for advanced development environments. By providing software teams with tools for seamless management of their remote working environments, we are not only improving existing workflows but also offering a new way to create software. Our partnership with Daytona reflects this vision, ensuring that JetBrains tools are complemented by next-generation remote working environment management capabilities – stated Alexander Kirsanov, head of the remote development and collaboration tools team at JetBrains.

Daytona has developed an extension for JetBrains that integrates its capabilities directly into popular developer tools. This includes several important features for enhancing productivity.

Moreover, with the recently released Open-Source Daytona, users can also create working environments in JetBrains directly from the terminal. This further enhances the integration between Daytona and the JetBrains ecosystem, providing every developer with the freedom of choice.

– We are excited about the partnership with JetBrains and are confident that this collaboration will further enhance the working experience for developers, facilitating an integrated approach to managing environments for development teams – said Ivan Burazin, co-founder of Daytona. This partnership comes after a successful pre-seed investment of two million dollars that Daytona recently secured. This amount ranks among the largest pre-seed investments, with investors being prominent names from the global tech scene.

With this step, Daytona and JetBrains are jointly moving towards completely eliminating the ‘but it works on my machine’ problem, while their ultimate goal is to democratize access to programming and development environments.
