EFZG is once again hosting Financial Literacy Week

In March, specifically during the week of the World and European Money Week (March 19-22), Zagreb will become the center of professional, educational, and entertaining events aimed at promoting financial literacy. The Financial Literacy Week, which is jointly organized for the second year in a row by the Faculty of Economics – Zagreb and Raiffeisen Pension Funds, will gather leading experts from the world of finance, politics, business, entertainment, and media to exchange experiences, establish cooperation, and discuss key topics of financial literacy, education, and financial capability.

At the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb, a series of free activities will be held, including the “Financial Literacy Academy for Youth” and “FLxTalk”.

The Financial Literacy Academy for Youth provides high school students and university students with the opportunity for free financial education through workshops and lectures that will take place at the Faculty of Economics on March 21 from 9 AM to 2 PM. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from professors and experts from the financial industry, receive educational materials, as well as a certificate of attendance at the Academy.

Financial Literacy Week

Financial Literacy Talk (FLxTalk), inspired by the TEDx event concept, will take place on March 19 from 11 AM to 1 PM in the library of the Faculty of Economics and will gather leading financial experts, entrepreneurs, educators, and influencers to explore key aspects of financial literacy and promote healthy financial habits. The theme of FLxTalk is “The Future of Finance.” Participants will have the opportunity to hear presentations from eminent experts in the fields of finance, economics, and entrepreneurship and receive concrete tools and advice for improving financial knowledge and skills. Topics will include the application of AI in business and everyday life, investing in crypto assets, the digitalization of financial products and services, starting one’s own business, using TikTok as a business platform, and other current topics, with speakers sharing their inspiring success stories.

The following speakers will participate in FL Talk:

1. Ana Zovko, Chief Digital Officer at Croatia osiguranje, leads the digital brands LAQO, CO digital, and Koreqt, as well as projects for the digital transformation of business and improvement of user experience. She has built a successful career in the telecommunications sector, and her academic education was obtained at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb, where she successfully completed her master’s degree and MBA studies, and at Leeds Metropolitan University, where she earned a master’s degree in international management and marketing. Ana Zovko will give a talk on the topic: “How to leverage the power of digital transformation and succeed”.

2. Dario Marčac, TikTok mentor and founder of Crewa

Dario completed two high schools; mechanical engineering and music school, and studied mechanical engineering at the University of Rijeka. He is one of the leading TikTok creators in the region, with over 500,000 followers on his profile and over 120 million impressions achieved for clients, playing a key role in the formation and success of the Crew community. Under his leadership, Crew now counts over 60 creators with a total of more than 8 million followers, making it the largest TikTok creator community in the region that has collaborated with over 70 brands. Dario Marčac will give a talk on the topic: Why TikTok?

3. Marc Piano, advisor in the field of digital assets, employed at the global law firm Harneys with an office in the Cayman Islands.

Marc has extensive experience in blockchain technology and virtual financial services and has actively participated in some of the most well-known projects in this industry. He is a co-author of the report “Blockchain: Legal and Regulatory Guidelines” and a member of the Board of Directors of the Cayman Islands Blockchain Association. He is also a co-host of the podcast “Piano Lessons,” which aims to demystify digital assets, cryptocurrencies, blockchain, NFTs, and technology. Marc Piano will give a talk on the topic: “The Future of Finance, the Economy and Humanity – blockchain, cryptocurrency, digital fiat, and AI.”

4. Tea Tipurić Zavacki, business mentor, founder of the podcast #radimposvom

By profession an engineer, Tea Zavacki worked as a project manager for application development in the banking and ICT sector after completing her studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb. Today, Tea is a business mentor and founder of the #radimposvom brand, which brings together ambitious entrepreneurs, freelancers, and creatives from across the region. Tea’s #radimposvom podcast is one of the most listened to business podcasts in the region, with over 100,000 views and downloads on popular podcast platforms. Over the years, Tea Zavacki has worked with more than 800 entrepreneurs as part of popular online programs, including the #radimposvom ACADEMY – a business academy for modern entrepreneurs. Tea will give a talk on the topic: “Personal brand as an unfair advantage.”

5. Patricija Topić, AI expert and tax advisor

Patricija completed two high schools; general gymnasium and music school. She graduated from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Zagreb and is currently finishing her master’s thesis at RRiF College for Financial Management on the topic of taxing crypto assets. At just 23 years old, she became the PR and marketing manager at Ford Croatia, and is currently employed at Mazars as a tax advisor. Patricija is a co-founder of the iOS Question GPT application, which she works on together with her partner, Hrvoje Prpić. Patricija Topić will give a talk on the topic: “AI in Your Pocket: Tomorrow Started Yesterday.”

In addition to the Academy and FLxTalk during Financial Literacy Week, young people have the opportunity to visit the Festival and Exhibition of Financial Literacy held at the Faculty of Economics – Zagreb, from March 19-22, from 10 AM to 2 PM.
