Mars Company, known for its long-standing commitment to creating a gender-equal work environment, continues with the initiative #FlipTheStatusQuo aimed at building on last year’s successful project and continuing the dialogue on gender equality.

Ten Mars employees, regardless of gender, will have the opportunity to win $10,000 each for education and development of their choice, with nominations symbolically opening today, March 8, on International Women’s Day.

Inspired by last year’s #FlipTheStatusQuo project, Mars has expanded its desire to promote gender equality in the workplace to all employees and implemented it with the intention of encouraging all its employees worldwide to contribute to building a more inclusive world where everyone can reach their full potential.

– We want the world ahead of us to be inclusive and for everyone to feel accepted in it. We advocate for gender equality because it is necessary to establish a certain type of support for all of us to reach our full potential. An inclusive world where we all feel a sense of belonging is something that each of us at Mars wants to see. This is a topic we actively and continuously engage with – emphasized Vanja Vagić, Head of Corporate Communications at Mars for the UBBAI region.

Additionally, Mars is motivating and empowering its female employees this year through participation in the International Women’s Day 2024 campaign, with this year’s theme being #InspireInclusion.

– When we inspire others to understand and appreciate the inclusion of women, we build a better world. And when women themselves are inspired for inclusion, a sense of belonging, importance, and empowerment is created. Let’s build a more inclusive world for women together – emphasize the organizers of International Women’s Day.

Mars provides equal opportunities for professional career development to all its employees, striving to ensure 100% gender equality in the distribution of leadership positions in the company’s global teams. Currently, 42% of leadership positions at Mars, Inc. are held by women, and in the UBBAI region, which consists of 15 markets including Croatia, the gender balance is 42% women to 58% men.
