The largest chain of marinas in the Mediterranean and a regional leader in the nautical sector, ACI d.d., achieved 35.9 million euros in business revenue in 2023. Sales revenue increased by 2.9 million euros compared to the previous year, or 9 percent, amounting to 34.6 million euros. The largest growth was recorded from the annual mooring service, amounting to 2.1 million euros. In the previous year, a positive gross financial result of 3.8 million euros and EBITDA of 12.7 million euros were also achieved. All marinas within the ACI system recorded growth in 2023, while individual growth exceeding 0.2 million euros was recorded in six marinas.

– In 2023, ACI maintained stability in its operations, but with continuous engagement in further development, primarily through business diversification. The growth of total revenue by 3.2 million euros is an expected result of a slight increase in physical indicators, but also proof that we successfully responded to competition and the general market situation with our commercial conditions.

The largest share of the achieved revenue comes from ACI marinas Split and Dubrovnik, which also recorded an increase of 0.6 million euros compared to the previous year. Ultimately, a gross profit of 3.8 million euros and realized EBITDA of 12.7 million euros are a boost for new breakthroughs in the future – emphasized Kristijan Pavić, President of the Management Board of ACI d.d.

The 40th anniversary of successful operations and four decades of nautical excellence of ACI d.d. was marked by an increase in business revenue to 35.9 million euros, with an expected growth of nine percent compared to the previous year. At the same time, the company’s net profit was slightly over three million euros. According to plans and set goals, sales revenue grew by 2.9 million euros, amounting to 34.6 million euros.

In 2023, revenue from sales grew in all marinas, and the marinas that recorded sales revenue growth exceeding 0.2 million euros were Dubrovnik, Rovinj, Cres, Skradin, Trogir, and Umag, whose growth accounts for 60 percent of the total achieved sales revenue. During the past year, a total of 2.8 million euros was invested in the system, with these investments primarily related to the arrangement of ACI marinas Palmižana, Rab, Žut, Vodice, and Pula.

– The year 2023 will be remembered as the year in which ACI celebrated its round anniversary, but also as a year of intense engagement in activities aimed at extending the duration of existing concession contracts. This has long been seen as a key risk for further development and especially for further investments. Therefore, the company continuously seeks its strategic opportunities outside the boundaries of existing concessions while working on extending them. Given the alignment of personnel costs, which the company sees as a long-term investment in staff, the realized business results are expected and we see them as a good foundation for further development – reflected on the annual results Dr. sc. Ivan Herak, Member of the Management Board of ACI d.d. for finance, corporate law, and human resources.

Considering the successful business results and the company’s policy, ACI continuously implements the practice of socially responsible business and environmental preservation, paying special attention to the local community. During 2023, several cleaning actions of the sea and coastline were held in ACI marinas Palmižana, Šimuni, and Supetarska Draga, where the broader concession area was relieved of significant amounts of waste. Similar actions and efforts towards sustainability and green transition will continue this year.

Along with business breakthroughs and investments in the preservation and development of nautical infrastructure, the company’s focus remains on obtaining a building permit and starting the first phase of the construction of ACI marina Rijeka, which is expected to begin in early 2024.

– In 2023, ACI invested 2.8 million euros, with investments highlighted in ACI marinas Palmižana, Rab, Žut, Vodice, and Pula. When we talk about investments, our focus is certainly on the construction of the future ACI marina Rijeka, for which a building permit should soon be issued. After that, the plan is to start the construction of a marina that will change not only the nautical map of Croatia and the Mediterranean but also improve the daily lives of residents of the entire Rijeka region. The business year has passed under the sign of celebrating the 40th anniversary of ACI’s establishment. Throughout the year, we marked this significant anniversary at various locations, and celebrations will continue throughout 2024, until the next ACI Day on July 1. In this jubilee year, ACI confirmed that it is a socially responsible company, primarily through sponsorships and donations. A total of 0.7 million euros was invested in various projects of interest to local communities and broader communities – concluded Josip Ostrogović, Member of the Management Board of ACI d.d. for investments, marketing, and retail.

Planned further investments in nautical infrastructure and ACI’s service offerings in 2024 amount to 12.5 million euros, and the company will continue to make continuous efforts to resolve the issue of extending concession contracts, which mostly expire in 2030.
