Zdenko Matak resigns from the Management Board of Erste Bank, he will be replaced by Katarina Kraljević

Zdenko Matak, a member of the Management Board of Erste Bank responsible for the Citizenship Sector, Business Development Sector for Citizenship, Direct Channels Sector, and Digital Banking Sector, is resigning from his position and will be succeeded by Katarina Kraljević, the current director of the Business Development Sector for Citizenship, who will assume her new role on August 1, as stated in the announcement.

Matak began his career in the IT department of Bjelovarska Bank in 1989, and from 1999 to 2014, when he became a member of the Management Board of Erste Bank, he held various managerial positions in the citizenship business segment. Matak will continue his career at Erste Bank and will serve as an advisor to the management for citizenship business in the future.

The decision of the Supervisory Board of Erste Bank to appoint Katarina Kraljević was made subject to obtaining prior consent from the Croatian National Bank and the European Central Bank.

Kraljević holds a Master’s degree in Economic Sciences and has many years of experience in the banking sector. She began her career in 2001 as a financial advisor for citizens at Bank Austria Creditanstalt Zagreb. From 2002 to 2005, she was a financial representative for small and medium-sized enterprises at Centar Bank, before moving to Erste Bank as a risk manager for the micro-enterprise, craftsman, and citizenship segment.

From 2008 to 2015, she led the Directorate for Credit Risk Management for private clients and micro companies, while from 2015 to 2017, she served as the deputy director of the Citizenship Sector. Since January 2018, she has been at the helm of the Business Development Sector for Citizenship.

– Zdenko Matak has left a significant mark in building the current position of Erste Bank, providing a significant impetus to its continuous growth and development over the past 35 years, especially in the citizenship business segment. We are immensely grateful for his overall contribution and successful collaboration over all these years. Respecting his personal decision, we look forward to being able to rely on his support in the future, through the advisory role he will perform – emphasized Christoph Schoefboeck, the bank’s CEO, on this occasion.
